In Bulgaria we have worked in four areas with children and young people aged from 10 to 18. Some of the pictures and the things the young people wrote are what you can see in this video.

From all the groups we learnt that participation for young Roma means having a cause and making small steps towards it every day. Each group worked on their own topics, but education was the most important concern the groups shared. It was seen as a way to overcome poverty and a way to help challenge ideas about girls dropping out of school to take on looking after siblings and then having their own children. Five Community Support Centres took part and helped organise our campaigns in rural areas in the regions where they operate. They organised events and competitions and collected essays and drawings of many children.
